CREATING A NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF STATE AND OFFICIAL VISITS TO THE PHILIPPINES

There is hereby created a National Committee to take charge of arrangements for state and official visits to the Philippines by heads of state and heads of government invited by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, as follows:

The Honorable Secretary of Foreign Affairs | Chairman The Honorable Secretary of Trade and Industry | Member The Honorable Secretary of Public Works and Highways | Member The Honorable Secretary of National Defense | Member The Honorable Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports | Member The Honorable Secretary of Tourism | Member The Honorable Secretary of Budget and Management | Member The Honorable Press Secretary | Member The Honorable Secretary of Interior and Local Government | Member The Honorable Mayor of Manila | Member The Honorable Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs | Member The Honorable Presidential Consultant on Military Affairs | Member The Group Commander Presidential Security Group | Member The Honorable Assistant Secretary for Protocol Department of Foreign Affairs | Member The Honorable Chief, Presidential Protocol | Member The Honorable General Manager, NAIA | Member

The Committee shall be responsible for the planning, coordination and smooth execution of all arrangements to be made in connection with the state or official visits.

The Committee is authorized to call upon any Department, Bureau, Office, Agency or instrumentality of the Government, including Government-owned or controlled corporations for such assistance as it may need in discharging its duties and functions. The Committee is likewise authorized to create sub-committees as necessary.

This Memorandum Order takes effect immediately and supersedes Memorandum Order No. 101 dated 8 March 1993 creating a National Committee for the 24-27 March 1993 official visit of the Thai Prime Minister.
